After traveling and participating in residency experiences across Argentina and Latin America, artists Maximiliano Peralta Rodríguez and Cintia Clara Romero decided to expand their home to welcome fellow artists interested in developing productive or reflective projects in a peaceful environment connected to nature.

Thus, in 2012, they designed CURADORA, a work residency for artists, cultural managers, and curators, with the aim of providing a welcoming space for exchange, research, and production in connection with contemporary art issues.

The residency is located in a semi-rural setting surrounded by groves, rivers, and lagoons, just minutes from the towns of San José del Rincón and Arroyo Leyes, and half an hour from the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. It features two bedrooms, a workshop, a carpentry studio, a specialized library, and a large forest-garden with a swimming pool, allowing residents to develop their projects. During residency periods, participants share the house, meals, and creative processes, fostering a communion between artistic practice, daily household activities, and the natural environment.

Between 2013 and 2022, CURADORA hosted ninety-eight national and international artists as fellows. In addition to developing their projects, residents led talks, presentations, and workshops at various local institutions, engaging numerous colleagues and students from the region. In 2014, these formative spaces evolved into the “Workshop for Analysis, Production, and Project Support,” coordinated by the residency organizers. This initiative has brought together over a hundred people who create and reflect on art from this region of the world.
