Proyecto PAC was founded in 2017 with the aim of stimulating artistic production and fostering collaborative networks and exchange opportunities between artists, curators, theorists, critics, managers, and other cultural actors, both nationally and internationally. Since its inception, it has developed a residency program at the Gachi Prieto Gallery in Buenos Aires, offering three types of residencies: artistic production, curatorial research, and cultural management.
The program particularly values “work in progress”, recognizing that within the creative field, interests and methods of work evolve as a result of new questions, knowledge, and experiences. Consequently, the program encourages participants to dedicate their residency to on-site observations, conversations with various figures in the art world, self-reflection, and development.
Each selected resident is hosted individually and works for four to six weeks in a workshop space provided by the gallery, supported by a team of mentors. Residents also participate in all activities organized by Proyecto PAC, such as classes, clinics, seminars, exhibitions, and a personalized agenda of meetings with various cultural figures in Buenos Aires. The residency culminates in a presentation of the artist’s work, whether through a workshop, lecture, exhibition, or another relevant format, allowing them to share the outcomes of their stay with their peers and the public.
