El Galpón Aluminé is located in a rural area 17 km from the town of Aluminé, a mountain village with a population of 10,000 in the central-western region of Neuquén Province, 380 km from the capital. The identity of this space is not only inscribed in the geographical location but also shaped by the community and practices that define it.
At El Galpón Aluminé, the focus is on disrupting norms and revaluing the unconventional, the twisted, the strange, and the different.

The residency encourages exploring ideas and testing perspectives that might have previously been overlooked, fostering group connections and creating prejudice-free spaces for open expression.
The program emphasizes living in close connection with nature, drawing inspiration from the natural world, and working collaboratively. Artists are invited to immerse themselves in the surroundings, blending with the grass, finding solace near the river, and being surrounded by birds, plants, animals, and insects. There is an emphasis on feeling the elements—the cold, humidity, heat, and the ever-changing colors of the skies.

El Galpón Aluminé has received support from the Gestionar Futuro subsidy, the Fondo Desarrollar Cultura from the Ministry of Culture of Argentina, and project support from the Centro Federal de Inversiones. It is also part of Red Quincho and Cuero gestores de Patagonia.
